As part of the World Asthma Day and on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, in collaboration with the STMRA (Tunisian Society of Respiratory Diseases and Allergologies), IFM radio and Med.tn, the OPALIA RECORDATI laboratories are organizing the تنفس انتي حر health caravan for asthma and COPD screening (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), a first of its kind in Tunisia.
Asthma, a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract, is now very common around the world. According to estimates from the World Health Organization (WHO), asthma has become a serious public health problem affecting more than 300 million people, with an estimated mortality of 250,000 patients per year. The general prevalence in Tunisia is 3.6% and it varies between 2.7% and 4.5% in urban areas. Only 15% of asthmatics are on treatment.
The objective of the تنفس انتي حر caravan initiated by Opalia Recordati, STMRA and Med.tn is to raise awareness of this public health problem, and to screen for asthma in the regions where the populations are most affected.
The caravan will be in Gabes on April 29, April 30 in Sfax, May 1 in Kairouan, May 2 in Sousse and finally May 3 in Tunis.
